After the successful opening of Yuki in the Hills in 2018, owner Mike Oh now brings Japanese fine dining to Burnside. If you’ve ever experienced Yuki in the Hills, you’re going to be blown away by Yuki Burnside – same concept, but with an even more premium service. Mike wants to take his diners on a journey to Japan, not only through Yuki’s authentic Japanese cuisine but with its elegant, traditional décor.
Early contractor engagement of Croudace enabled us to help manage the process from concept to completion. This ensured our client’s design development timelines were achieved as well as facilitating discussions around suitable materials and finishes within the client’s budget.
The extensive use of natural timber cladding on the main counter, bulkhead and back lit feature screen exhibit stunning design elements that set the stage for Yuki’s chefs to showcase their excellent culinary skills.
A design element that was a non-negotiable for our client was the importance of having somewhere to display his collection of Japanese whisky and he requested to incorporate culturally significant motifs, which were carefully routed into plywood paneling and back lit behind the main counter (the beauty of having an in-house CNC machine).
Croudace is proud to deliver on the new restaurant space within the client’s budget restraints and in time to onboard their world-renowned chef for their grand opening in November.
